L’Impératrice
The whimsical, stylized disco of French alternative dance group L’Impératrice was the brainchild of keyboardist/composer Charles de Boisseguin. After releasing a series of EPs beginning in 2012 and adding a dedicated singer along the way, the band issued their first album, Matahari, in 2018. They followed up with Tako Tsubo in 2021.
Undercover Dream Lovers
The Undercover Dream Loversis the American indie psychedelic dreampop project by songwriter and producer Matt Koenig. Koenig debuted the first Dream LoversEP, While It’s In Style, in early April 2016 at Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right and he hasn’t stopped since.
Koenig wrote and produced all the songs for the Dream Lovers in his Brooklyn, NY bedroom before moving to Los Angeles, where he now has a home studio. Periodically, he enlists the help of friends for a drum part or mixing advice/collaboration but hopes to eventually work with a consistent band. Being a part of a band has always been Koenig’s inspiration for music, however he has found it more practical and efficient to create the songs himself.
One of the biggest highlights for the Dream Lovers has been the rapid success of his single ‘Good Luck’, which went viral on Spotify shortly after its release in October 2016. The track also landed in an episode of Vice’s “Fuck, That’s Delicious,” scoring the project it’s first sync. ‘Come Home’ came less than a year later, landing on Spotify’s New Music Friday and going viralas well, continuing his momentum for growth.
Now that he’s settled in Los Angeles, Koenig is looking forward to releasing his first full-lengthalbum in 2019 and also intends to tour much more.
