ADA Accessibility

We believe that music is a universal language that unites all of us and brings people from all walks of life together. We thrive on making people happy from the time we open our doors to the last note of the concert.

We believe whatever your religion, race, culture, education, gender, ability or disability, that everyone should be able to enjoy music as equally as is reasonably possible and plausible.

We strongly believe that if we do everything we can to treat everyone as we ourselves would wish to be treated, we can succeed in our efforts to “turn everyone on” to the magic of the live music experience. That said, everyone’s case is individual and each venue and show has its own unique challenge. We encourage you to reach out to us directly to purchase tickets and make requests for special accommodations or needs for any event at any venue we present. We will do our very best to accommodate you with an ease of service that will exceed all expectations.

Accessible tickets are available for all events that Another Planet Entertainment presents. To purchase accessible tickets, click on the “Request Accessible Tickets” icon on the respective Ticketmaster event page.

Hannah Gadsby

Hannah Gadsby has been a comedian for more than a decade but it was 2018 when the world took notice when their ground breaking comedy special launched on Netflix and stopped the comedy world in its tracks.

Nanette earned Hannah an Emmy, a Peabody, an Australian Academy Award, and the Most Outstanding Show awards at both the Melbourne Comedy Festival and Edinburgh Fringe. Since then, Hannah did two more solo stand-up comedy shows which toured the world – selling out houses across the USA, Australia and Europe, including the Sydney Opera House, the Royal Festival Hall, the Kennedy Centre, the London Palladium and the Opera House at BAM.

Hannah’s second Netflix special, Douglas launched in 2020, and their third, Something Special landed on Netflix May 2023. Douglas was nominated for an Emmy and won an Australian Academy Award as did Something Special.

In 2022, they also managed to publish their New York Times Best Selling memoir, Ten Steps To Nanette in more than ten languages, chatted with the likes of Colbert and Fallon and hosted a gala at the Montreal Just For Laughs comedy festival.

Hannah also co-curated an exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum, taking part in the global celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of Picasso’s death featuring works from the Musée Picasso in Paris alongside those from the Brooklyn Museum’s Feminist Art Collection.

Hannah’s fourth special with Netflix was recorded in 2023 and launched in 2024, recorded in London, the Gender Agenda bought together gender queer comedians from around the world.

DeAnne Smith

Canadian comedian, podcaster and writer, DeAnne has dual citizenship – they grew up in upstate New York, but started their comedy career in Canada, ‘In 2008 I did a few gigs in Australia and was introduced as Canadian, so I just ran with it. It was the era of George W Bush, so I was happy for people to think I was not American. It was also during this time I met Hannah for the first time. I was flyering in Adelaide and saw someone that looked like they would enjoy my show, so I said they should come, but they said their show was at the same time’. DeAnne kept bumping into Hannah on tours and eventually they became good friends, ‘they are still in my phone as Hannah Gadsberry because the compere got their name wrong, so it just stuck.’

Before they started their career in standup comedy, DeAnne started out writing funny online articles, ‘I eventually decided it would be easier to just say the stories out loud rather than write them. I started doing open mic sessions in Montreal and it went from there.’

In 2008 they toured their debut full-length solo stand-up show to popular and critical acclaim, winning the Sydney Comedy Festival’s Time Out Best Newcomer Award and a nomination for Best Newcomer in the 2008 Canadian Comedy Awards.

They love absurd comedy and pushing the envelope, especially interacting with the audience.

DeAnne’s comedy style was once described as ‘nerdy but dirty’ which they quite liked, although they’re not sure if that is still relevant, ‘A more recent review said I was ‘better than therapy’ which I’m very proud of. I like to be the weirdest one in the room. But also someone who is personal and relatable.’

When DeAnne started in comedy in 2006, it was a very different climate to what it is now, ‘I remember going on stage and the stage manager saying ‘just make sure you don’t come out on stage’, so I made sure it was the first thing I did’. DeAnne uses they/them pronouns.

In 2014/15 DeAnne started talking about more gender queer topics, ‘I have grown up being socialised as a woman, so I felt being on stage was an opportunity to almost educate people a bit more. I wanted to be able to answer the question, ‘why does my voice matter in this room over someone else’s?’ I felt like it helped justify my comedy if I can add in a bit of information/education about it.’

DeAnne Smith has performed all over the world, including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the Iceland Comedy Festival and Just for Laughs Montreal and Chicago. They starred in the Netflix show Comedians Of The World with a special called ‘Gentleman Elf’. They are gigging relentlessly around the USA/Canada for the start of 2024.
