Boiz House
Boiz House is a live-electronic band consisting of TCHiLT, MNTRA, AiDO, dernis, Malley and Sammy Legs. The group originally met while attending UC Berkeley, and later studied music production post-grad at Icon Collective in Burbank, CA. They moved into a house together, creating a hub of inspiration and collaboration until eventually, the entire group started working on the same projects. The result was unlike anything they had ever heard before.
Bridging the gap between DJ sets and live instrumentation, Boiz House combines the excitement and spontaneity of a jam band with the energy of a club set. Listeners will experience the funky grooves of house & techno music, the playful storytelling of hip- hop, the other-worldly unpredictability of psychedelia, the charming melodies of nostalgia, and the raw, brute strength of subharmonic frequencies. This eclectic palette makes the Boiz House sound hard to describe, but easy to enjoy.
Although they often perform as a group, each individual member is a uniquely talented producer and DJ in their own right. This creative range has led to solo project releases on a wide variety of labels such as Dirtybird, Desert Hearts Black, Trippy Ass Technologies, Box of Cats, and Gud Vibrations. Now the crew is turning their attention towards the Boiz House catalog, preparing to release several fan favorites on their own label imprint.
An unwavering belief in each other and in their music has garnered Boiz House an extensive network of grassroots support, leading to performances in 2022 at Dirtybird Campout, Northern Nights, Lucidity, Shabang, Bass Camp, Moonlight Mirage, and Any Patch of Grass. A sound that resonates with fans across many genres and demographics means that Boiz House has a little something for everyone, and a whole lot to discover.
Ooga
Ooga is a musician from the Bay Area, California. He grew up with a love for playing the guitar and later in life developed an affinity for exploring the realms of experimental bass music production. One of the most promising and fast rising artists in the bass music scene, Ooga uniquely fuses funky rhythms and organic instrumentation with soul satisfying bass frequencies and ear-tickling percussion. He is well known for his captivating and unbelievably energetic stage presence no matter the setting – and on special occasions he will bless the audience with a series of mind melting guitar solos, an experience that the audience will never forget.
After being invited onstage at Okeechobee festival by legendary bass music duo Eazybaked to play original music for 30,000 people, it became clear that Ooga always seizes the moment and leaves the crowd in a state of awe and sentimentality. He was most recently selected as the surprise guest for The Untz festival, where he stepped up to the plate and crushed his 12pm set in the blazing sun – while only having learned that he was playing less than ten hours prior. It doesn’t matter to Ooga if there are 30 people in the crowd or 30,000… you can always count on him to give it his all, regardless of the circumstances!
Something worth mentioning is that Ooga recently went viral for making a tweet regarding wearing hearing protection at festivals and clubs. Caring deeply about the future of our scene and the health of those involved in it, he has always emphasized spreading awareness about wearing earplugs and is currently beginning a partnership with ACS customs to help provide the world’s highest quality custom earplugs at a more affordable cost to any people that are interested. Please don’t get him wrong, he likes it loud.
The lush blends of sounds in his music always have one key ingredient: joy.
Passionate, wide eyed, and always groovin, this is Ooga
