After a period of isolation, of introspection and a journey inward, you step outside. Out into the world, emerging as a new self, prepared to face the external. Yet, as you come up for air, and cross over the threshold, nothing is as you remember it. There’s been a shift in the atmosphere and you’re overwhelmed by a sweeping, corporal sense of emotion. You can feel the tension, saturated in the air. As if the world is now cloaked in a palpable sense of feeling. Enter The Efferusphere.
You’ve set foot into a parallel dimension – one in which the emotional energy defines the law of what you see, of what you hear, based on how you feel. The Efferusphere is the emotional atmosphere of life on earth.
This phenomenon shakes you at your core, wholly exposing you to a seemingly impossible level of depth in introspection – but it is a safe space to be witness to yourself. You can finally observe your emotions rather than simply feeling them. You’re struck by sensation never experienced before: one you could not have possibly ever envisioned, akin to synesthesia for the soul. You find yourself physically surrounded by isolated emotional energy, as if they composite what we commonly understand as the weather & ether we move through.
Enthralled by this life-altering experience, akin to entering a world painted through the lens of magical realism, Stell found himself captivated and inspired to open this newfound world to those around him. Thus, he returns after nearly three years with his new album: The Efferusphere
CANNONS alternate between flashes of gauzy introspection, glitter-drenched dancefloor ecstasy, and gritty sensuality. The Los Angeles trio—Michelle Joy [vocals], Ryan Clapham [lead guitar], and Paul Davis [drums keys]—elevate alternative / electro-pop to a neon stratosphere with nocturnal production and a visual sensibility equally suited to Studio 54 or summer festival season. Thus far, the band has honed this signature style over the course of three albums, namely Night Drive [2017], Shadows [2019], and Fever Dream [2022]. Along the way, “Fire For You” reached RIAA gold status, generated nearly a quarter-of-a-billion streams, topped Alternative Radio, and landed massive syncs on the likes of NETFLIX’s Never Have I Ever, American Horror Story, and more. CANNONS earned critical acclaim from The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard, FLAUNT, and Consequence of Sound while YouTube touted them among 2021’s “Artists on the Rise.” Emerging as a live force, they’ve headlined countless packed shows in addition to lighting up festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, Life Is Beautiful, Outside Lands, and Electric Forest, to name a few. Evolving yet again, CANNONS kickstart another era with the sunny, sassy, and sexy funkified strut of their 2023 single “Loving You” and much more to come.
Bay Ledges is the project of Maine-born and based musician Zach Hurd. Inspired by a bi-coastal existence, he released his debut album, Ritual, a 13-song record written, produced, and mixed entirely by Hurd in 2022. Exploring transience, nostalgia, and Hurd’s own relationship to music and art, it’s a meditative record that’s both psychedelic and thrilling.
Hurd started Bay Ledges in 2015 in his bedroom shortly after moving to Los Angeles, where he stayed until 2020 when he moved back to his small hometown in coastal Maine. The project initially took off when Hurd’s 2016 single, “Safe,” jumped to the number three spot on Spotify’s Global Viral Chart. Since releasing Ritual, he has garnered more than 115 million streams worldwide and received praise from the likes of Billboard, Under The Radar, and Flood.
Bay Ledges has toured all over the US and Canada, sharing the stage with such acts as Yoke Lore, Magic City Hippies, and The Palms and selling out headline shows at iconic venues like the Troubadour in LA and Schubas in Chicago. 2023 will see him supporting artists like Big Wild, Goth Babe, and Trevor Hall in addition to festivals and a headline tour.
He is currently working on new music.
