Champion of the melodic house genre, Cedric Steinmyller – best known as Klingande – has been breathing new life into the electronic music world with his impeccable productions and uplifting sound, cementing his reputation as one of the most refreshing and original producers around in modern dance music.
A welcome departure from the big room house sound that has been dominating the scene in recent years, Klingande’s presence of sublime melodies has made him one of the leading figureheads within his field. Releasing standout music alongside fellow tropical house founders Kygo, Bakermat, Sam Feldt and Robin Schulz, his refreshing and innovative sound has influenced the likes of Lost Frequencies, Kungs, Ofenbach and many more; cementing him as a pioneer of the melodic house genre.
Hailing from Croix, Northern France, Cedric began studying music theory as a child before later becoming immersed in electronic music as a teenager, learning to DJ and subsequently working on his own original productions. Discovering his passion for electronic music, his immense appreciation for Sweden’s booming dance music culture inspired him to eventually settle on the moniker Klingande, taken from the Swedish word for sounding – something that continues to cause confusion as to his origins to this day! Committed to furthering his vocation, Cedric moved to London where he spent a year studying at the famed Point Blank Music College, learning every facet of music production and experiencing multiple genres, a testament to his drive and determination to reach the top of his game.
Returning to his hometown back in 2012, Klingande holed himself up in the studio, honing his now signature sound to unveil his delightful debut single ‘Punga’ in 2013. However, it was his follow up ‘Jubel’ in 2014 that rightfully propelled the young producer into the spotlight, becoming one of the first standout tracks of its genre. Since then, the record has amassed over 200 million views on YouTube, an additional 22 million plays across SoundCloud and a further 230 million on Spotify, as well as taking the #1 spot in 30 countries to become the most Shazamed track across Europe.
Unsurprisingly, it was not long before the burgeoning star caught the attention of talent scouts and tastemakers around the globe, and as the praise rolled in thick and fast, so too did the requests. His guest mixes have been applauded by the likes of Billboard and Dancing Astronaut and he has been called upon for remix treatments by everyone from the late Avicii & Wyclef Jean to Parov Stelar. Alongside this, he is now the host of his own radio show in the ‘House of Chill’ series on Sirius FM. Aired monthly; the show brings in millions of listeners every month from around the globe.
A musician in the truest sense of the word, what sets Klingande apart from the rest is his dedication to producing unusual and mesmerizing soundscapes. Constantly introducing instruments not usually encountered in typical electronic music, his third official single ‘RIVA (Restart The Game)’ – released in 2015 and featuring French singer Broken Back – even saw him experiment with the harmonica to almighty applause. He followed up with the brilliant ‘Losing U’ introducing a quartet of chords. Bringing his saxophone and violin player to every show he’s played since 2016, Klingande ensures this experimental attitude resonates throughout his live performances. It is therefore no surprise that he has been called upon to play at major festivals from Ultra Music Festival in Miami and Korea to Tomorrowland and Creamfields.
Klingande followed these tracks up with a succession of hits like ‘Somewhere New’ (46 million streams on Spotify) and ‘Pumped Up’ in 2017, with the latter already racking up 78 million plays. Known for his innovative productions, Klingande produced the first Facebook live stream music video in history for ‘Somewhere New’ as the video saw 40 people come together to tell a wonderful story through 11 different environments.
2018 proved another momentous year for Klingande, as he embarked on his hybrid live show tour across the US, Europe and South America. Incorporating his signature DJ sets alongside live saxophone, violin, and guitar performances, Klingande’s shows continue to captivate audiences in both intimate venues and festival mainstages. Despite his hectic travel schedule, Klingande delivered a constant stream of genre-defying music to his fans including his collaboration with Chicago-based trio Autrograf ‘Hope For Tomorrow’ featuring Dragonette. His infectious summer hit ‘Rebel Yell’ with Jamaican vocalist Krishane has already amassed more than 12 million streams worldwide. Following the success of his North American fall tour, Klingande reunited with Broken Back to release their whimsical single ‘Wonders’ to wide acclaim, setting the stage for his most defining year yet.
In 2019, Klingande will be releasing his eagerly anticipated debut album, a celebration of his iconic feel-good sounds intertwined with 10 brand-new productions that fans will instantly connect with.
Dj M3 has staked his everlasting claim in the Bay Area music community in 1990 as a key promoter and DJ, roles for which he took on the abbreviated appellation of M3, short for “Makes Me Move”. Begun as a fluid, down-tempo approach, M3 eventually evolved his sound to the expression of house and techno bangers he is known for today. Manny quickly developed his own legendary party brand Green Gorilla Lounge and progressed to sharing the decks with industry icons with bookings across the globe. This further developed Manny’s acumen for rhythm and cultural finesse, priming him for several collaborations with Phil ‘Rene’ Collis of Bachelor’s of Science and setting the stage for their alliance as the stealthy duo Sleight of Hands. Having seen releases through his own label Green Gorilla Lounge, as well as Smoke ’N’ Mirrors, Om, Sirenum, and Chillin’ Records.
