AURORA
In a world so beautifully overrun by multifaceted pop artists, AURORA leads the pack. Admired by many of her peers — from Troye Sivan and Doja Cat to Katy Perry and Shawn Mendes — there’s a strong case to be made for Aurora being your favorite pop star’s favorite popstar, but despite such weighty co-signs her appeal is far from confined to the upper echelons of pop. You know AURORA, even if you don’t know AURORA.
Singer, songwriter and producer: AURORA (born Aurora Aksnes in 1996) has proven to be a three-sided talent, and since bursting into the limelight in 2015 with her debut EP Running With The Wolves, the Norwegian artist now has more than 20 million monthly listeners on Spotify, her songs have been streamed an incredible 3,3 billion times, and she has sold over a million albums worldwide. Furthermore, she has performed at the Academy Awards, toured all over the world, been listed by Rolling Stone as one of ten new artists you should know about, and collaborated with artists like The Chemical Brothers, as well as appearing as a guest on TV shows such as The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Late Night with Seth Meyers.
AURORA’s fourth album The Gods We Can Touch (2022) was critically praised, and sent the young singer’s international career towards new heights. The single Cure for Me became a viral hit largely thanks to TikTok, and in 2022 alone, she performed at venues such as Brixton Academy in London and Central Park Summer Stage in New York. Her fifth album What Happened To The Heart releases worldwide on June 7th 2024.
AURORA is known as a different pop star; she has named her fans Warriors and weirdos, and throughout the singer’s career, her ethereal, atmospheric pop music, distinctive voice and lyrical messages has attracted a continuously growing, as well as extraordinarily dedicated, fanbase all over the world.
