A Deeper Love offers an intimate look at the remarkable ascent of trans icon and trailblazer Peppermint. Tracing her journey from New York City’s club scene to her groundbreaking success on RuPaul’s Drag Race and her subsequent historic performances on Broadway, the documentary delves into Peppermint’s personal struggles, triumphs, and unwavering fight for personal acceptance and broader trans visibility. It is a powerful narrative of self-discovery, resilience, and the relentless pursuit of a platform to champion marginalized voices. From executive producers Bob the Drag Queen and Elliot Page, A Deeper Love also features Laverne Cox, Trace Lysette, Sasha Velour and many others.
We invite you to join us at the iconic Castro Theatre for an event that celebrates identity and self-acceptance in all its forms with an in-person appearance by the legendary artist herself: Peppermint!
Peppermint is a trailblazing Black trans icon, performer, and activist. She made history as the first openly trans woman to originate a principal role on Broadway and as a finalist on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9, where she introduced millions to her artistry and activism. Beyond the stage, Peppermint has been a powerful voice for trans rights, racial justice, and LGBTQ+ liberation. Her life and career embody the resilience, creativity, and visibility at the heart of A Deeper Love.
