A note from Maya Hawke:
It’s been a wild year for everyone. and it feels crazy to be sending this letter out right now, but a lot has changed for me in the last few months and I feel the need to communicate with you guys directly about it. I shot the final season of stranger things and put out chaos angel this year. it was hard to give that album the love and attention I wanted to while I was shooting. but you guys made it easy. someday I will find a way to show you properly how grateful I am for the way that you received and loved that record. I put so much into it and felt it come back from you 10 fold. since its release, I find myself reckoning with what the ending of the show means in my life. I don’t expect anyone else to care about it but for me it’s huge.
all I’ve wanted to do all year is tour this record and see you guys, but now that I am finally finishing the show and could, a project has come up in my life that is very inspiring and important to me that overlaps with the US leg of the tour. the EU tour will go on as scheduled but the US leg is canceled. all your money will be refunded as quickly and efficiently as possible. and if you’ll have me, I can’t wait to come play songs for you sometime soon. I hope you can understand.
if feels weird to even be bothering your inbox with a message like this right now but I knew I had to reach out to you guys as soon as I knew this tour couldn’t happen. I wanted to give as much advance notice as possible. and make sure you could get your money back in a timely manner. thank you for loving this record thank you for wanting to come to see me I promise I will make that a possibility in the future.
all my love,
maya

Maya Hawke
Songwriter, singer, actor, and multi-instrumentalist Maya Hawke is thrilled to announce a brand new EP, entitled Clipped Wings, set for release this Friday, October 4th, via Mom+Pop. Serving as a companion piece to her latest album Chaos Angel, which was released to acclaim earlier this year, Clipped Wings is a gorgeous four song collection filled with some of Hawke’s most vulnerable lyrics and compelling songwriting to date.
The EP’s first song, the deliriously fun “Kamikaze Comic,” is available to hear now. Clipped Wings was co-written and co-produced by Hawke, along with her longtime collaborators
Christian Lee Huston, Benjamin Lazar Davis and Will Graefe.
Says Maya about the new EP: “I wanted Chaos Angel to be a tight and consistent record. The songs on Clipped Wings were heartbreaking to cut. Some of them I have waited years for you to hear.
They are very special to me. Songs about friendship
Self actualization
Self hatred
And finding balance between what you want and what you want to want.”
