Frameline47
Frameline is back and shaping up into yet another can’t-miss Festival.
The 2023 edition opens with Fairyland, produced by Sofia Coppola and directed by Andrew Durham. This is a big-screen adaption of Alysia Abbot’s memoir and tells the story of a young girl growing up in San Francisco with her gay dad in the 1970s and 80s. This delightful film recently debuted at Sundance and beautifully explores our city’s queer history.
Another big, confirmed film is It’s Only Life After All, directed by Alexandria Bonbach, which is a fun and intimate documentary on the Indigo Girls (keep your eyes peeled for more Indigo Girls news on launch day).
Frameline will also screen Rock Hudson: All That Heaven Allowed, a powerful HBO-produced documentary on the legendary actor, directed by Stephen Kijak, who also directed the Frameline43 sell-out Sid & Judy.
And Frameline Distribution and Programming are excited to premiere their latest restoration project, Stephen Winter’s 1996 audacious satire Chocolate Babies, fully restored by Frameline to its near-30-year glory.
