Producer Seven Lions has never had a problem breaking rules and transcending musical boundaries to satisfy his creative vision. Catching his break after winning a Beatport remix contest in 2012 with his dubstep-focused version of Above & Beyond’s “You Got to Go”, Seven Lions, born Jeff Montalvo, garnered support from the likes of Anjunabeats, Casablanca Records, OWSLA, Viper Recordings, Republic Records, and Monstercat over the past nine years. After a decade of music, Seven Lions released his first ever album ‘Beyond The Veil’ to the excitement of the wider dance music scene. The album includes twelve solo original tracks that challenge and evolve the current melodic bass and dubstep sound that he helped pioneer. Massive crossover stars Lights and Vancouver Sleep Clinic as well as dance music singer/songwriters Mija, GG Magree and JT Roach are featured on the record, which delves into dance pop, downtempo, acoustic, house, ambient and cross-genre territory.
Seven Lions has been busy teasing the album tracks at countless festival headlines this past year, his 2021 tour and standout performances at Red Rocks and his own music festival Chronicles at the Gorge. Putting technical production prowess to work in a soulful, deep, hybridized creations that all distinctly his own, the multi-talented musician is changing the sonic landscape for future generations to come by bridging the gap between the soaring, ethereal vibe of trance and intensely adrenalizing bass music. His productions have seen stages at world-renowned festivals such as Ultra Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival (New York and Las Vegas), Electric Forest, Electric Zoo, South by Southwest, and HARD.
The Seven Lions world continues to expand through Ophelia Records, his own melodic bass label that has made it’s imprint through several scene-leading releases like Seven Lions, SLANDER, and Dabin Feat. Dylan Matthew – First Time, Seven Lions & Jason Ross – Ocean, Seven Lions, Excision, and Wooli Feat. Dylan Matthew- Another Me, and Seven Lions, Dabin, and Trivecta Feat. Nevve – Island. The label has become synonymous with homegrown, cream of the crop melodic bass music, and is undoubtedly the label that the rest of the melodic bass scene looks towards for up and coming acts and tour worthy anthems.
Tritonal, one of dance music’s most prolific and versatile production teams, have announced plans to release a new studio album, entitled “U & ME,” and embark on their biggest North American tour to date. While the festivities won’t kick off until January, Tritonal have provided a new dynamic single – “U Found Me” – to hold fans over until then and have promised a steady flow of new releases until the album drops in the New Year.
“U Found Me” is a high energy single reminiscent of progressive/electro house anthems that helped to establish Tritonal’s career. The track delivers a bright and uplifting dose of their distinct production; bulging with glitchy melodic flavor and driving undertones whilst subtle guitar leads build into a cascading concoction of flared bass and pulsating synth stabs.
“The title for our latest full length album, U & ME – is a very simple pointer towards Unity & Love that we feel is inherent in life itself. Ultimately, we are all connected – in fact everything in the Universe is connected. Music allows us to express that connection through sound. There is so much inherent divisiveness in our culture today and we wanted to flip the “you vs me” or the “us vs them” dialogue on its head. “My Country”, “My Team”, “My Race”, “My Beliefs”, “My Social Group” – they all are ideologies people identify with to enhance their false sense of self and can be divisive instead of unifying. Through them, people make themselves “right” and others “wrong” and define their identity through their enemies, the “others”, the “nonbelievers” or “wrong believers”. This identification leads to suffering. Hopefully, our music can act as a light that shines upon one simple truth – Love.” – Tritonal
Tritonal’s U & ME will be the duo’s third full length studio work and will be paired with a massive tour in support of its release. The Austin, Texas-based team will headline major venues including Los Angeles’ The Palladium, Chicago’s Concord Music Hall, NYC’s Terminal 5 and many more as they criss cross the continent. Tickets for Tritonal’s “U & ME” tour go on sale on October 12th – more information here and full list of tour dates below.
The music of Jake Stanczak, better known as American producer and DJ, Kill the Noise, was born out of an era where Ridley Scott imagined utopian futures on the silver screen, and artists like NIN and Aphex Twin rocked MTV.
After channeling the influences of his youth through over a decade’s worth of forward-driving electronic releases (Roots, Kill Kill Kill, Black Magic, Occult Classic), and charismatic live shows (Coachella, EDC Lollapalooza, Hardfest), the name “Kill the Noise” has become synonymous with some of the leading acts in dance music — getting creative in the studio with the likes of Dillon Francis, Deadmau5, AWOLNATION and Skrillex — and as 2017/18 unfolds, he’ll be unveiling even more material.
